Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii (ATRC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, resource center that provides access to assistive technology (AT) for people with disabilities of all ages, enabling independence and participation in every aspect of community life, including employment and education.

ATRC offers free programs to the community. These programs are geared to the education of individuals with disabilities, friends and family members, professionals, institutions and anyone else interested in assistive technology.

As a resource center, ATRC's mission is to link persons with technology and as such, ATRC will utilize demonstrations, outreach, technical assistance, public awareness, device loans and trials, financial loans and other programs to meet that mission. ATRC unbiased opinion regarding Assistive Technology provides the community with a broader overview of what is available and how it works.

OUR NUMBERS IN 2014

  • 19 people with disabilities received AT devices, resulting in $1,860 savings to recipients
  • 422 people with disabilities and their family members are introduced and trained on AT products and services.
  • AT program reached an estimated 257,785 people through awareness activities

The Assistive Technology Act of 1998: builds on its predecessor, the Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1988 (Tech Act) and affirms that technology is a valuable tool that can be used to improve the lives of Americans with disabilities.  It also affirms the federal role of promoting access to assistive technology (AT) devices and services for individuals with disabilities.Type your paragraph here.
