Training

Open lab successTraining communities, government agencies and individuals is essential to bring about needed change and stimulate self-advocacy. Until everyone understands the challenges and knows what programs exist, finding help can be frustrating. ATRC is continually developing training materials and programs to promote assistive technology in Hawaii.

Community Training support includes:

  • Training on how AT devices and services can impact individuals at home, school, work and in the community.
  • Access to a consumer training network of people prepared to co-present with professionals at workshops, conferences and other public forums.
  • Print and electronic materials covering an array of assistive technology.

Government Training support includes:

  • State agency education.
  • Encouragement of interagency agreements to streamline the process for acquiring assistive technology in the state system.
