Research on the Internet is not as easy as it seems, especially
if you do not know exactly what you are looking for. There is so
much information on the World Wide Web that may take hours sort
through everything to find exactly what you need. The Georgia Tech
Center for Rehabilitation Technology has made this process easier
for individuals looking for assistive technology information on
the web by creating Assistivetech.net.
Assistivetech.net is
an online information resource providing up-to-date, thorough information
on assistive technologies, adaptive environments and community resources.
The site also has information and resources focusing on the needs
of people with disabilities, including their families, service providers
and members of their communities. Assistivetech.net
does all the legwork for you. The site has a search engine that
provides information on AT devices for various abilities. It also
has links to other important and useful sites on assistive technology,
disabilities, and community and government resources.
Now, instead of calling various agencies and vendors or searching
through the hundreds of sites on the World Wide Web, individuals
with access to the Internet can just go to one site for all the
information and resources they need.
